2021-10-18 18:59:17 +0000 UTCI have been training like the YB for years. No man can live with me for more than 20 seconds. My chin is like iron. However, let me tell you, once you in there under the lights, it a different ball game. Still, only one way to find out. get in there and do it.

In fact if it’s not I’ll be fuckin disappointed and I’ll call you on it. I’m gonna apply some of these to my own sports and training, I need to get more scientific as I’m definitely at the social good for nothing level 😂 What I think is that if you get the right opportunity you could be to boxing what Billy Bean is to baseball. He came at it from a completely different angle using - guess what - facts and stats! - and completely revolutionised the game. I’m genuinely hoping you can do something similar and I’m interested to see how it all plays out and I’m backing you. All that said, I do have a couple of caveats. 1) Your chin. We have no idea how it’s going to hold up when you get caught clean. And I have no doubt that an ex pro is going to catch you clean at some point. You can have all the cardio in the world and everything in place but bam one hit could send you - or anyone - over, we just don’t know until we know. I once saw ex pro Gary Jacobs - fat and out of shape 10+ years out of the ring - go in a charity match against a young fit hungry buck trying to make a name for himself and he touched this lad to the body and he folded like Porky in a dentists chair. 2) Your lack of experience - the years spent in gyms and fighting means that Tyan will know a few sneaky tricks and things that you’ve not lived through so he’ll have an edge there. An example of this: A mate of mine used to be one of Scott Harrison’s (WBO world featherweight champion) sparring partners and they all worked in an old school gym. He told me that one of the first things the old school trainers told them to do was - if you’re struggling to land to head or body then punch the other guy’s arms, do it to tire his arms out and to keep him guessing, just a small thing but my mate said it made a difference when he was sparring guys who were taller and more elusive than he was. Another one they used to do to fool the guy into dropping his hands was punch his gloves, you have to do it quick and explosively to get the opening but again a sneaky trick that my mate said worked a treat almost every time. So the overall point I’m making is that any pro will have years of tricks in the bank that you don’t. Anyway I’ll listen to all this again and see what else I can pick up from it, definitely one of your best patreon sessions imo, salute salute general general
