Although I agree that the crew shouldn't bring Frederica with them and despite the fact that they've decided they are doing so, I'm not sure why they couldn't just leave Frederica inside of Fido's carriage, or some safe-ish location outside of combat. Is being in Raiden's machine really safer? She can see everything going on with her special eyes, and Raiden is an active combatant. Imo they're not obligated to take her onto the battlefield, even if she feels they are (for some reason).
