The British royal family is related to Russian royal family 2. Generally, once the revolution started, the rest of European monarchies that were left were outraged and in deep fear that it could spread and come to them, so they offered sanctuary to their aristocracy as a matter of solidarity. 3. There was actually some shadiness on the part of the British king. Russian Tsar was his cousin, and Russian Tsar (the dad of Anastasia lol) together with his many children and wife, believed that the British king would send a ship and people to get him out of Russia and save him. The British kiiinda promised doing it, but the king and his government (mostly government) were reluctant bc they felt that it could be tricky situation for them, so while they were debating whether or not to help him, his family got brutally killed. And then afterwards, they kept helping Russian aristocrats as a way to wash that guilt a bit as well.

Also michael mentioned that it was tommy's orders that lizzie can't hang with angel because of his shady business. Also if they let her leave she might know alot of secrets already. I think john messed up when he insulted the guy but its mostly from a place of power and even tommy sided with him.

2025-09-26 21:42:28 +0000 UTCThe reason they all didn’t want lizzy to be with Angel was because Angel had been doing shady business behind Lizzys back and was using fake names and involved in a lot of bad things, John has always had a connection with lizzy and still has a lot of love for her (in season 1 lizzy and John were going to get married) so I think he wanted to protect her from the Italians and knew Angel was up to no good, however he should not of gone that far. But something that always comes up and always has come up throughout this series and more so in the real life story of the peaky blinder brothers, John wears his heart on his sleeve and is loyal to a fault. When he has love for someone he will do anything to protect them. He saw red and couldn’t control his emotions towards the situation, the first time I watched it I was so pissed off with John but the more I watch it and the more I read I get johns point of view and understand more about his character.
