Herodiade Frolicking

Las Grietas is a small slot canyon on the side of a volcano in Lanzarote. It’s a sweet spot to shoot if you can have it alone. But it is a trendy tourist spot, so much so that the police have cordoned off the available parking and are handing out tickets.

The challenge with slot canyons is that most light will come from above, which is generally not flattering. So, you need to pay attention to how the body is twisted so the light falls in a more flattering fashion.
What are your solutions if you have to shoot in a place with the light coming straight from above?

It is a challange but as the light is more like a striplight than total overcast without direction it's doable.

Love how the lines in the rock lead you straight to the model and gap with the view behind. I guess the light and shadows change very quick in confined spaces a d if light directly above the only thing I can think is looking for where shade falls on the rocks and getting the model close to the wall maybe lying down to get a shadow across the length of her body. Interesting challenge
