Jump the shark

At the time, she was dancing for the Royal Danish Ballet.
As you can see in the second image, the stripes are created by a fringe curtain.
We didn’t have any sunlight available, which is the best light source, so I set up a lamp with a grid about 10m/30’ away to get the light as pointed as possible. It’s not great, but the second image was still worthwhile.

I'd wondered about recreating that effect without direct sunlight, so I guess this is a good answer. Of course, projecto approaches are possible for crisp lines, and I saw some amazing examples of that recently on Flickr, but that's somewhat different.
