It is a cool series with the outstanding Lena Dancer on my Ottoman.
It’s all daylight through the windows diffused with a Lee Opal filter attached to the window and a Black flag on the opposite side to supply some negative fill.
From there on, it’s all about composition and having Lena perform her magic.
Geez, I love working with dancers.
PS. For me to be able to even have this light available during winter it tool a bit of demolition: Outside my studio, there was a wooden construction meant to shade the windows from the light. I had to take this down (cut the iron beams with an angle grinder and remove the wooden structure. And now I have sunlight during winter - when the sun is out at least.
In a previous studio after being there for a year and having observed light and how it progresses during the seasons, I decided to build a wall that would receive a light pattern in winter, to have something to shoot up against (below).
I find it valuable to see if it's possible to optimize the places I shoot in if at all possible.
