Blue eyed cave

I was in Lanzarote with Wianamodel in April, shooting my latest video course, “Artnude on Location, Mastering natural light.”

Here are some images we shot on the first day in a volcanic cave with a big skylight.

One of the things I look for when researching locations (That is also part of the course, by the way.) is how light will be. For this particular place, there were two challenges: I needed to have only a little sunlight falling in the cave, as the contrast would be insurmountable and create a backlit situation. And the second was to make sure I had sufficient light on the model.

That said, if you like model photography, I will strongly recommend making an extended trip with a model for at least 3-4 days:
