Tan Shadows
Added 2023-10-10 13:59:00 +0000 UTCA walk on the dark side with Wiana Model from shooting Art nude on Location. I still have so much stuff to show from our six days creating all the instruction videos.
These are shot near midday (you can tell by the shadows). But when you have places with shadows, you can turn a disadvantage into uniqueness.
I love black and white, and one reason is I can take abstraction further: Check out how much darker I can make the close-up image, which gives a unique look.
This would never work in color; the color itself can’t be twisted this far and still look right, but with black and white, two steps distanced from reality.
Ralph Gibson says something like, “Reality is 3D, a photo is 2D, and B&W is the lack of color.” The more removed from reality you are, the bigger abstractions you can get away with.

Yes. There is a lot of interpretation possible during editing.
