Is assumption the mother of all fuck-ups?

Here’s an old image with Rebecca Perry shot using daylight from a window.
When I first shot this, I was hell-bent on not sexualizing women, so I created a fake bush to make it more “palatable.“ I now think I had a misplaced intent of protecting models/women who are perfectly capable of defending themselves.
If they have a problem as models with people seeing their labia, they would probably not be clean-shaven at a photo shoot.
I just made another version of the image “au naturel.”
Which of these is your favorite, and do you have any thoughts in general?
It's all entirely up to the model. If they're confident enough to be naked, they should be able to decide on the details, communication is key, as always. I like all 'trim' levels, they each have things to offer, the soft feel of the untrimmed and unwaxed to the completely smooth - a different smooth, soft feel altogether, with everything in between - landing strip, etc. Full bush is most natural - 'here I am', waxed the most uninhibited - nothing to hide, literally.

I have recently moved to Illinois, the local talent seems more open minded than in Atlanta (southern Bible Belt)!

Yep. It’s not simple but it’s something that needs to be discussed in advance.
The problem, I think, is supply and demand. Some people are indeed willing to pay a premium to shoot “higher levels.”
And that creates an expectation (or a business opportunity) among models.

I have wondered the same thing as Marvlus. I have lost track of the number of models that I have talked to recently who charge one rage to model "nude" as long as their genitals are not in the shot. But charge a significantly higher rate under the title of "erotic" if their genitals are included in the shot.

When a model who models nude specifies that they don't show a part of themselves, are they a nude model or a semi-nude model?

I'd also be concerned that the model might consider it insulting to have their likeness changed in such a way. Sadly, there have been times and places where some perfectly normal shapes of vulva have been considered to not be beautiful, leading to women having surgery to change their shape to comply with the fashion of the time. I'd hate for someone to think I found that part of their body in need of hiding for such a reason. It's bad enough to have to blur images or add "digital bikinis" to make them comply with the requirements of some sites.

Nice bush, but I prefer to leave (very) well enough alone

I personally find pubic hair incredibly sexy, so I don’t mind seeing it on a model, but I also appreciate a glimpse of what it is hiding as well. I think you’re revised thought is on point. I’ve shot with models who wear it for the reason of people not seeing their labia. But if your model was comfortable in that pose, she had obviously had no problem with it.
