Pastel dreams

I (allegedly) went to Valley of Fire with Kylie Le Beau last year, and we shot this set in one of the small slot canyons.

In the image with two pics, you can see the raw export from Lightroom (where I had already darkened things with masks) and the finished cleaned-up result from Photoshop.

One thing with the raw that annoyed me was the lack of a defined edge at the top right of the canyon opening.
So I made one.

Also, the model isn't light enough, as there wasn't enough light for her dark skin.

If you compare the two images, and you found it when scrolling by on Instagram, my guess is the right-hand side would make you stop, but half of everyone would keep scrolling if they encountered the image on the left.

That is the power of postproduction:
Attracting attention to where it should go and make a good image into a wow image.

Thanks Randall. Yeah, it does make a lot of difference to direct the attention where you want it.

Amazing to see Before/After next to each other. The Post Production is an excellent Masterclass! So much detail on exactly how you process your artwork!

Brighter the more noticeable, then from what they say is the sharpness but I think you can play with that
