This piece is what I call "Dark Matter Concept Art".
It features a sequence of desperate (graphic) moments between Lars and Sadie, while visions of Lars's friendship with Ronaldo float around up top like a dream.
I see Lars's friendship with Ronaldo and his friendship with Sadie as mirror relationships: Lars is playing out a cycle of trusting someone,then becoming too afraid to speak to them again after opening up.
In both situations, he tried to have a secret, solitary relationship free of judgement.
