SU "Lars Wakes Up Pink In A Hospital Bed" digital concept art

When it was first said to me that Lars was going to die and be revived to turn pink, a lot of thoughts ran through my head.
I drew these feeling like no ones personality changes over night, so this happening to Lars would probably be the beginning of him wanting to change but acknowledging he feels unable to. Turning pink for a man with a lot of machismo feels like it would have effects lol.
Here, he's waking up in a hospital bed, likely from a suicidal gesture trying to save Sadie and become a Crystal Gem with her (early on it was planned that humans were going to become Crystal Gems and fight against Homeworld --the Diamonds were going to be overthrown--Sadie would be trained by Amethyst, Connie by Pearl and Greg by Garnet).
I thought, as Lars sees Sadie grow its more and more painful to see himself stand still until it hits this "head". His death would be partially sacrificial but also coming from a place of "I'm not GOOD enough/No way out/All is lost for me/Whats the use."
These are just my old thoughts based on what was being set up at the time.
Considering the ultimate story changes I thought it might be of interest!
