Here's a section I thumbnailed and storyboarded for the Steven Universe Episode "Island Adventure".
I've talked about this before, but you can see in my notes under the panels how I was using Roy Orbison's song "In Dreams" as a stand-in for a potential musical sequence.
It drives a lot of the action. And inspired the shape of the story.
Roy Orbison described In Dreams as "a dream you never want to wake up from". The crescendo builds to the waking moment and cuts off abruptly.
I used this... to similar but different effect for Island Adventure: the crescendo is also like an orgasm. Sadie and Lars work eachother up, and the actions are cut off before there's any kind of sexual release.
This leads to a chase scene where ultimately Sadie Stabs/Penetrates the Gem to death with her spear.
This is like Jamie Lee Curtis's character in Halloween, where she attacks/penetrates Michael Myers.
Sadie has a Final Girl vibe if I ever saw one.
