FAQ #1: Now charging up front
Added 2017-06-01 08:02:28 +0000 UTCI'm gonna go ahead and start a series of FAQ-Posts which I will contribute to whenever there are questions that we think are interesting for all patrons and those who might become patrons in the future.
We are now charging up front.
Why?
Sadly, we are already experiencing people who exploit patreons "monthly" system by pausing their pledge for on the 31st and then unpausing on the 1st. That way, they have acces to paid content without actually paying.
What does that mean?
- For patrons that have already made a payment:
Everything stays the same. You will get charged on the first of every month like before. If you increase your pledge, you will be charged the difference to your old pledge immediately, and after that return to paying the full amount monthly on the 1st.
- For new patrons:
You will be charged immediately when you pledge to us. After that, you will be charged on the 1st of every month.
That means if you pledge 10$ on the 27th of june, you will pay 10$ immediately and then 10$ on the 1st of july. If thats okay with you, we totally appreciate the support. If you'd rather wait until the 1st, that's fine with us too.

Yeah, it's a bit annoying. Most of the pledges came through though and were realy grateful for that nonetheless :)
