Question about CG

Hello again.

Apparently I either don't write posts at all or spam them every three days.

Today I come to you with a question related to the CGs. As everyone knows MC in LD doesn't have an actual look, because of which it's not easy to make any CGs including the player's character. I was considering plenty of options, but in the end there was always something else to do if it comes to visual assets, so I just kept it hanging.

Narram did come to me with proposition of making an example CG to see what people will say about it. That is basically the question. What do you think about it?

What would you think about those kind of CGs for some scenes including the MC? It still leaves some problems to solve, but I don't think I can come up with any better idea.

For now out of curiosity I will just ask if you like this approach or not really. Thanks for participation.

LOVE the idea, see through oral and anal perfect <3

Biaga

I would have to agree haha or give us different body types to choose from maybe πŸ€”

After seeing some of Zagghov's artwork on Rule 34 of the Northcrest Guard, another way to do it could be a pure POV situation where we can look at the character we're interacting with from our POV but can't see ourselves at all. Might help keep the "create your own character" thing simple while including special artwork that includes the MC.

False Name

This approach is nice but so would be the option to hide shadow since my herbalist would cast a shadow twice (x2) as big as that. The small frame and dainty small hands of the shadow shown would take me out of immersion.

Diomedez

I like the idea too. It make me kinda horny thinking about all the male and creatures playing with the young apprentice. i would welcome if you rework scence in the past. yeah ^^ you can put the art without the MC in the library too, for example. thats cool

Sethai

If we did this it would be fun to see it in past scenes.

Andrew Whelan

I like the idea of cgs with MC in it. But I don't think replacing the MC with shadow is any better

Sorrow Grief

I think this a very smart way to allow people to enjoy additional CGs whilst also being able to project their idea of the MC. I have faith that you can work out the perfect balance with Narram

guildeforde

I personally think giving the MC an appearance would take a lot from the game, as it has been built up to be a game where the MC is who you imagine/self insert etc. So while the shadow is ok, I would suggest you don't fully give a look the the MC (please :'v).

WereBeest

I would go with this approach along with the option to hide the shadow if possible. Other options either limit the scenes that can be shown or result in needing far too much extra art for character choices, or to decide on an appearance for the MC.

Istauri

Formless MC is fine since I mainly care about the other characters anyways. Plus, with the MC being kind of see through, we get to see more of what's important - aka Gunnar in all his glory :D

False Name

Especially since the MC doesn't have a face or a canon design, this works fine!

Rioichi Karihazi

Honestly this isn't a bad idea, especially if it means more CG, and if it makes it easier for creative team all the better

LLVPandaSevron

This is a great idea! The above example is perfect in my opinion.

Sub6Snoopy

My opinion is the same as Jacob's but make it so it can be disabled as some people won't want that.

Azyr

MC being formless is completely fine, if we get more cg involving them with the various men(and some women) whether it be sfw or nsfw.

Mr.Flannel

Make it where the player can choose between looks that you create and go from there maybe???

Keith

If you're really set on not giving the MC any proper appearance, this is pretty good as a workaround. Personally, I think it would be cool to see even a limited amount of character creation for the MC (hair and eye color, gender, etc.) someday, but I also understand that even something as limited as a handful of customization options would probably end up being rather complicated to implement into CGs.

The Mysterious M3tav0X

this is great, and would be even be better if there's a toggle to hide/show the mc shadow.

Gray

Since you're committed to maintaining an appearance-less MC, which I totally approve of, this is an Excellent way to expand upon the visual component of LD's cg scenes. I would love to see this no used to add more visuals going forward, either to new or old scenes.

Teiran

I think this is a really good idea

Anthony

Personally like the idea, just make it where there’s like slight differences to identify gender for those who want that c:
