General update // One Movie + A few records #9

- On the docket this week is my return to the writing of my next book tentatively titled "The Pelt". This process has been lower than I thought It would but the few people I've shared the WIP text with seem to be digging it so I'm feeling confident in it and I'm just going to proceed at the pace that it warrants.
- Augur series:
I've finally settled on the conclusion of this project: It's going to be a little art book which I'll probably crowdfund at some point in the coming months.
- I've started "mentoring" a team of comic creators from Cabo Verde on the invitation of a Portuguese initiative to promote comics in portuguese speaking countries. I'm going to accompany Diana and Hegui for the next 6 months as they develop a 40 or so page comic which so far looks super promising.
Mentoring is a strong word: I'm mainly meeting them a couple times a month via skype to help them where they might need another set of eyes and not much more than that.
One Movie + A few records #9
Music: Thanet Tape Centre is a Kent-based music label that releases alternative and experimental music.
I've come to know their work via the Hrdy-Grdy tape, a record based around the Hurdy-Gurdy and some electronic processing which I found really cinematic and just great. I really want to see the movie this could be the score to. A dark and weird medieval movie directed by Robert Eggers, maybe? Kicking myself for not grabbing the tape quickly enough.
Really recommend diggin' into the other releases as well. Very psychedelic, ear-candy type stuff which I LOVE. Plus the cover designs are fantastic.
I really enjoyed watching Lost in America.
I'm interested in the history of comedy (thanks to comedy podcasts) and Albert Brooks was one of those names I've regularly heard being referenced but never come in contact with until his guest starring role in an episode in the latest Curb season. I have some minor gripes with the plot structure of this movie but I thought it was really funny and sharp. Looking forward to watching more of mr. Brooks work.
