SnowStorm - News of the month (july)

As I'm starting to work on SnowStorm while I'm finishing SandStorm, I'll also start a news thread for SnowStorm, it won't be weekly like SandStorm, but monthly this time. I feel it is enough as I'm not at 100% on it.

From now on, until I release the demo of SnowStorm, I'm going to work 50% on SnowStorm and 50% on SandStorm. That demo should be ready sometime in September or in October, I won't rush it as I will only release it when I believe it's good enough. 

In the meantime, at least the v0.7 of SandStorm should be released.

Once the demo of SnowStorm is released, I'll go back to SandStorm at 100% until it's finished which means v0.8 , v0.9 and v1.0

Hopefully, in early 2022, it will be the grand start of episode 2 of EraStorm, named SnowStorm, and as you probably already guessed, it will be around Norse mythology.

For now, I won't give any hint about the story and the possible links between those 2 games.

The demo will be made as if it was a completely new game, unrelated to SandStorm. 

The links with SandStorm will be only discovered in 2022 for the first real release of SnowStorm

First, let's talk about the technical choices made for SnowStorm: 

Gameplay: Visual Novel mainly, with some additional features compared to sandstorm 

Field of view: exclusively 1st person, except sex scenes, but MC head won't show anymore

Side heads in text box: removed

Renders: better quality

Animations: hopefully made by someone pro at that (if support is enough)

Dialogues: less quantity, better quality

Narration: a little more descriptive

Story: as important as in SandStorm

Choices: they will still matter a lot, but they won't happen the same way as SandStorm

History/Mythology: Viking/Norse/Nordic

Music: Of course. you guys know how I care about that

Pace: slower than in SandStorm

Proofreading: Yes, mandatory and made by a team of native English speakers

Relationship with girls: classic romance/sex

NTR: None. Nothing. (explanation at the end) 

Casting: A lot bigger. I would say around 10 girls + some guys, but I don't know yet how many of them will be possible love interests. I'm thinking of 6 but not sure. There are 3 girls that are a bit more important than the others (as they are needed for the story) and those will be the 3 you will meet in the demo, but for the rest of the girls, I'll also decide according to their popularity whether I deepen their story or not.

That's it for now :)  In the next monthly news update, I'll get into the details of how SnowStorm will work as while it is still a VN, the gameplay will be somehow different.

In the meantime, I'll drop some renders and some lore there and there in the different tiers, so that you can see how beautiful and interesting it is, hopefully :p.

PS : If there is one important thing I learned from the first episode, is that mixing so many genres and tags is a bad idea. For various reasons. Trying to make an "all you can do" game forced me to create tons of routes, with tons of conditions while making sure they remain avoidable. Trust me, it's a nightmare to handle, and when there are very different routes like in SandStorm, the game progress slower as I have to dispatch my time between all the routes and conditions. Therefore, I'm making things easier to handle for SnowStorm, so that the game development and the story can progress in a steady and comfortable way. Therefore the genres (including NTR) that were minor contents in SandStorm, will be totally absent in SnowStorm.

PS2: I don't know yet under which form (comics or VN), but as I enjoy making the fun and a bit extreme scenes between the girls and the well-loaded Gods (anubis and such), I'm planning to continue from time to time to make this kind of content just for specific Tiers (the ones labeled NTR). In 2022, I'm thinking of making a side unrelated game called "The crazy adventures of Maddie" or "Maddie and the gods" in where she will have to deal with some godlike dicks all along during her adventures. If I don't have time for a full VN, it will be at least a comic.
