I just wanted to pop in real quick and chat a little bit about what's going on. I'm sure some of you have noticed that this month I haven't posted much new content, and I wanted to acknowledge it. I think that you guys deserve to be updated since you all go out of your way to make sure to help support me every month!
To put it simply, I have been seriously overwhelmed, and it's really nobody's fault but my own. I do have very bad anxiety, so when I put too much of a load on my back without properly planning for it, everything goes to hell and it becomes very hard to keep up.
Part of this problem has been the "colored sketches" that I offer. They started out as just that, colored sketches, but somehow over time I ended up in this half-way point between fully polished product and colored sketch. They now take me twice as long and I have to do that for nearly 20 people every month since I want to make sure that everyone is receiving the same quality! (I don't want some people getting better images than others, because that's not fair to anyone!) It has just gotten to the point where I am struggling to finish all of them while also taking in commissions on the side to keep up with my bills, and that's a problem... :(
So, I think for next month I may have to change things up a bit.
I will be adding a monthly print option, so that may be something that people would prefer instead, but I am debating on what to do for the colored sketches moving forward.
I can do one of 3 things:
1.
Cut down the amount from 20 to 10 people (while keeping the current quality)
2.
Increase the price to 25$ (while keeping the current quality, so I don't have to take as many commissions on the side)
3.
Decrease the quality back to what it was originally intended (while keeping the lower price and higher availability) (example above)
Sorry if that was a lot of text to take in, but I have been really struggling with this and wanted to get your opinions.
Your support is what is keeping me fed, sheltered, happy, and healthy every month, so it is very important to me to hear from you! I seriously value every single opinion, so if you have any thoughts I would love to hear them!
Even if you have other ideas or feedback for me that doesn't pertain specifically to this topic, let me know~

My vote is for either 2 or 3, with preference on 3. Even without the extra work you've put into some of the more recent ones, your colored sketches have always been awesome, and I'd love to still get them like your examples.

2016-04-19 19:50:04 +0000 UTCAlso I don't see how raising the price gives you more time to work on the monthly sketches vs commissions (I can see how reducing the people or quality can, but increasing the price doesn't give you more time if 20 people still sign up for it).
