No Tolkientage for me this year

Since we've got a pertussis epidemic in our town (whooping cough), and since I have got a cough, I have to isolate until after the weekend. I've just come from the doctor, who tested me for pertussis, but the results take three days so won't be there till Monday. Which means the only thing worse than having to cancel Tolkientage may be learning on Monday that I cancelled them for nothing. ;_;
That brings my conventions this year down to one (Spiel Essen), since MagicCon is at the same weekend as Spiel and Feencon didn't want me.
I'll be on the sofa drawing mermaids and dorym. :(((((((((

So do we, but you can still get AND transmit it even when vaccinated. That's why my school says to isolate if you have symptoms, regardless of vaccination status. :(

A coworker of mine had a very similar thing happen for the solar eclipse in the U.S. a few months ago - he was set to go see it at the home of a friend who happened to live in the path of the totality, but the morning before, he woke up with a cough. His friend has immunocompromised family, so she asked him not to come if there was even the slightest chance he was contagious. …It turned out to be allergies XP
