Welcome to new Patron, Emily! I hope you enjoy the magic! =)
I haven't really dared to tackle more involved scenes in years, but I keep looking at my ~2019 art and thinking, this ought to be possible still...
So here's the beginnings to a scene with multiple characters AND some background! The fateful attack on Zephrah, in which Orym lost his husband and father in law.
Left to right (middle ground): Derrig, master of defence; Lita (his daughter), Keyleth (starting to cast a spell), Will; front: Orym. Obviously. =D In the foreground, we see the shadow assassins sent/led by Otohan Thull.
I started sketching the poses more or less freely, but in the end, I enlisted my daughter again ("Jana, I need you to pose with sword and shield for me." - "Sure! What sort of sword do you need? Medieval crossbars or gladius?" - "Ooooh, bring your gladius!") to have a LOT of movement and urgency to the scene. I'm really happy with the dynamics here.
I've had a few nasty/heartwarming days after posting "Falling for you" on social media; Instagram and Facebook in particular did a mass(ish) exodus on me, Facebook complete with puking emojis. I seem to have hit the right tone in my response though, asking anyone who did not like m/m slash art to either ignore me, or, if they weren't capable of that, to unfollow me. It seems a lot decided they weren't capable of ignoring, but at least I didn't provoke any more drama, and I hope we've got it now. *sigh* The heartwarming reactions came from many fine folks (such as a lot of you lovely people, too), so that was good. <3 Weirdly, Twitter was totally fine (as was Patreon, thank goodness!)
Last week before the Easter holidays! I'm hoping for some downtime, a lot of art, some D&D, and of course the D&D movie! I'm cautiously excited.
