It’s been difficult to scrape out time for art last week, but I finally finished designing the next batch of pins. Celestial bodies plus nerdiness plus fandom moment. ^__^ Eärendil, as always, is inspired by the 1919 illustrations of the Edda edition I inherited from my grandmother. Too Germanic? Some of the stuff in that book seems like some rather uncomfortable foreshadowing of Nazi aesthetics, but I suppose that was how they rolled in 1919...
Arien, Tilion and Eärendil will be the larger size of around 38 mm; the other two will be smaller, maybe around 30 mm. Eärendil miiiight get some iridescent glitter, as pearly as possible. The other two celestials probably won’t.
The courage and Túrin ideas will take some more mulling over; I’ve come to realise that forcing a design doesn't work just to get it out there.
Some other cool stuff is happening in my shop; I spent several hours at the local printer's to go over the new prints and I’m really happy with them! We've made twenty regular-sized ones and seven large ones, so the Eorlingas can now be enjoyed at a proper size. The Valar stickers are back too; I'll upload them as soon as I get some pictures taken. And the dormice are on their way! I’m so excited to see them!
