Mad world, pretty horse

My current state of mind, I suppose. ;)

I'd really hoped that I would get some stuff done during the holidays, but it seems my battery was a lot emptier than I thought. I then spent the last week cancelling Etsy orders that had been pending since March - rising infection rates in the US probably mean it will be another few (or more) months before I can ship anything there, and simultanously, there have been those kind, considerate people who, in the midst of a pandemic, tell Etsy that I never shipped their package, and suddenly I had another ultimatum on my chest, to refund within three days or have my shop closed.

My sales are nearly down to zero, and I'm glad I still have my job as a teacher - and YOU!

I do want to finish Bill and the Black Rider horse this month* - I have a bit of minor surgery coming up in early August, nothing bad, but it will mean another week mostly out of things. I want to get the Dungeons&Dormice booklet going, with a few more images and probably pins to go with it. But most of those latter things mean the world will have to regain some modicum of normalcy. We already have a lot of that here - there's the fear of a second wave, but overall, we can be glad it went the way it went. I hope you're all right where you are. There's so much going on in the world right now, a lot of it pretty scary...

*Oops, and the month is just another week. So, I definitely want to finish Bill this month! ;)

I would just send more support, if I coukd, and certainly purchase more and just wait-- as soon as possible. Love your "Bill" by the way. Your depiction of horses is always amazing & marvelous!

Canada is indeed open again - they did shut to overseas orders, but opened up some two months ago. :) It's really most of the world I can ship to, except, mainly, for the US and Australia!

Jenny Dolfen

Are you still able to ship to Canada, Jenny? If you're able to ship, other than to the States, then perhaps some of us would be able to help your "bottom line" on ETSY? ^_^ <3

Take all the time you need to refill those batteries of yours, to be healthy and to spend time with your loved ones. We've been living in a very strange world lately, who knows how it will evolve? I'm always happy to give you my support, no matter what, and I hope things will go better soon, and that the surgery will go perfectly well! Take care *sends hugs*

Oh wow - three months is a lot! I really sent the last ones out in March? It feels like years ago... I just checked, and South Korea is open for shipping again! I need to enter it manually, but I will as soon as I find the time! :)

Good to hear from you 😊 We all look forwards to the world making sense again at some point. Until then, we will just have to be content with what we can do - even if that’s just taking care of ourselves and charging our batteries - and then look forwards to better times with hope 😊

Liv Klein

Happy to continue supporting you on Patreon! I tried to order some pins but it seems Etsy isn’t shipping to South Korea anymore - though I did finally receive the print you sent out for the “Friends in Need” Tier. Such a lovely surprise (that I completely forgot about - the package was postmarked March? I think? And I received it in June. COVID has really scrambled international shipping!). So, in the meantime, thank you as always for sharing your lovely artwork and I’ll wait for the day that shipping can (safely) resume so I can buy All The Things! Thank you again, Jenny! ❤️

Dear Jenny, don't worry! We are your fans, we will wait and keep looking forward to the treats you have in store for us. Be safe!

Dear Jenny, it is so good to hear from you! Do not worry. Sometimes, the batteries are just too low and need to be recharged. It will get better, take all the time you need! I am looking forward to the dormice booklet, I have a few little girls and boys in mind who might enjoy a present like this. And the rest of the horses as well; Asfaloth and Rochallor are already framed and waiting for company. 😀

You know, that's why I thought I'd trick myself into *starting* it three weeks ago - normally, a finished, cleaned-up digital sketch is a great "Go!" signal for me. if even that lies around unfinished for weeks, you know it's serious. But yes, I'll absolutely continue my art. It's suffered worse setbacks.

Jenny Dolfen

Yes welcome back! Just do what you can. No worries. But do continue with your art as I think it benefits you as well as us. And don’t forget. “It's the job that's never started as takes longest.”

Aw good to hear from you Jenny! Hope things get better soon 🖤
