Betrayal, finished

Still looks sort of unfinished, but it's a look that I've been wanting to pursue for a while... and now I see it's not what I want to pursue for long. Well. It's good to be trying around! And I do love the greys here. Funnily, what I love most is the tendrils of paint on the upper left!

And Maedhros, I apologise for the drawing idea that crossed my mind yesterday... it's probably one moment with him that I've never drawn in my life (apart from that infamous comic I did about him in 1995, cough).

Aaaaaalso! While filling my sketchbook this week, I had an idea I thought you might like. Would you like to see a sketchbook tour?* I have a lot of sketchbooks with some really pretty stuff in them, a lot of which you probably haven't seen or don't remember. Apart from Anja, I suppose! =D

*(I still owe you a studio tour, I even recorded a video in December, but it was so dark that my little study looked even punier than it actually is! I'll try again in spring!)

I would love a sketchbook tour!

Gwendolyn

As I adore sketchbooks I'd klove to see what gems are hidden in yours :) Also this painting is beautiful <3

Steffi

It's lovely. The winds tying the images together, Fingon miserably staring as if he could glare across the vastness to reproach his friend, while Maedhros is so regretful as he looks back. I love the colours, the swirls at the edges, the hints of the other family members.

PL

Yes; grand gestures, completely oblivious.

Also I love that Feanor (I think?) is reaching out towards the sky, because that's so him; not looking back, reaching forward even though his son is having his reservations...

Evelyn Maire

This looks amazing!! And yes to the sketchbook tour!

I love this piece so much, all of it! It's heart-wrenching but the pain feels oddly good (wait what?) <3 A sketchbook tour could be very nice indeed!

Litsen

Certainly YES to a sketchbook tour!

Zane Libiete

Hee hee - I was hoping nobody'd remember! I tried several approaches and ended up not liking the salt at all. It required too much paint to work, and was too dominant as a background and division.

Jenny Dolfen

Wow, beautiful! But I thought you were going to mark the separation with salt?

Miranda Metheny

Haha! :D Yes, please do a sketchbook tour, Jenny. <3 I'm pretty sure you have so much stuff no one of us has ever seen before. I absolutely love your pencil / ballpoint pen / ... sketches! And you're right - I most likely remember everything you have shown us somewhere (as long as it includes Maedhros). ^.^ Which reminds me of the beautiful sketch you did of Fingon and Maedhros in one of your first tumblr posts. Unfortunately, you weren't able to sell this one. It's one of my all time favourites of these two!

Anjuschka

Amazing piece of work! Wow again. And yes, I'm in for a sketchbook tour! ^^ EDIT: Ok, I've read a bit on the comments, didn't find anything and I'm not sure if I did miss something. What's the idea that crossed your mind? I'm one crazy curious person.
