The war hero and the weirdo

Okay, I have decidedly too many sketches lying around... we'll see which one will be taken further!

This started out last weekend at my MagicCon booth, when a visitor asked whether I'd drawn any pictures with Newt and his brother Theseus Scamander. I said I hadn't, but the idea took hold. On Friday night, we rewatched the movie on BluRay and I fell in love with it all over again - and felt I wanted to do a Victorian portrait with the two of them. I went on Pottermore to see what we knew about Theseus apart from his name - which isn't much - and found out that an actor had been cast just last week to play Newt's older brother!

I looked up Callum Turner and found out that he looked like the perfect combination of the fuzzy image I'd had of Theseus and someone who could actually be related to Eddie Redmayne.

So here's the second year trying to smuggle a Bowtruckle into the photo in his breast pocket, who can't wait to take Care of Magical Creatures although it's still another year until he can, and the sixth year Prefect, on his way to Head boy, Auror and war hero. I bet he's Quidditch captain too.

I say he's either a Gryffindor or a Ravenclaw. Maybe I'll actually go with Ravenclaw, just to break the cliché up a little.
