Development report #7

Greetings breeders!

Here is another fresh dev report! It will not be the last before the release. I'm still finishing stuff and I only want to show it when finished.

One of the things I can share is the visual upgrade I'm undergoing on the game. That's right, I'm improving a lot the models for some characters! Additionally I'm increasing the scale at what they are displayed in order to "fill" more of the screen and leaving less empty space and all units seem coherent. It looks way better this way. I've also improved the belly's designs.

Just a few examples:

  I've been working a lot on the fight engine and it has been very time consuming. But I think it's important that it feels "good" to play and not just mash the attack button.

I finally was able to implement a lot of new things. Stun and burn effects for example are already functional(still fine tuning some issues). There is also clear buff/debuff indicators to signal if a unit has any of that on it. Right now it's on the lifebar so it's not too distracting but I'm still working on that part of the UI. Probably will change in the other releases. The debuff markers on the health bar(and a stunned Alien):
