👷Discord Access Issues Resolved - Thanks for your patience!

tl;dr Discord access fixed. If not, restart your Discord app.

I just resolved an issue that was preventing older messages from showing in almost all the channels. It was due to the “Message History” permission being off for everyone, which I had completely misunderstood as access to message edit history or metadata.

Moreover, the "view as member" function on discord was showing me that everyone had proper access (see video on the general chat for this tomfoolery). My theory is that this function assumes that the theoretical member has been online in the server 24/7 since the start - making message history access irrelevant as it has never logged off.

If you weren’t able to see previous messages and posts, everything should now be visible. If not, a quick Discord restart should prompt your client to reload and pull the history!

It's possible that you had only been able to see messages or posts made after you joined the server 😵‍💫 so do check out the channels to see if there are any new content you hadn't seen before!

PS. All this stemmed from me trying to get fancy with Discord permissions and roles! I should have taken the server settings more seriously 😬 Moving forward, I'm not going to make any changes to it unless a specific need calls for it.
