I chose the A1 single-gear extruder because it consistently produces cleaner surfaces and fewer gear marks than dual-gear designs. Fewer mating teeth and a simpler filament path mean less micro-slip, lower backlash and fewer vibration/feeding artifacts — which is exactly what PRINTING PERSPECTIVE showed in his tests. In practice (with my RX toolhead), the A1 extruder gear gives almost no visible VFAs on prints and handles flexible filaments more gently than the dual-gear alternatives.
