Update — Writing, and the Patreon

Hello everyone,

This is just a brief update to explain what I'm doing at the minute.

You'll have noticed that we unexpectedly blew past the $500 target for the Patreon, and we're rapidly closing on the $1000 target. Each of those involve increasing the read-ahead for TEWWBAD on here by another +2 chapters.

If this hadn't happened right after pushing the Patreon to +10 chapters of read-ahead, and right while I'm in the middle of doing something urgent (more on that in a minute), then I'd be rolling out the additional chapters over the next two weeks or so. Unfortunately, it's Sod's Law that it's all kicking off right now.

Why don't I just rush out the drafts I have now? They're not ready to be seen. I know some authors throw up some ugly, stream-of-consciousness first drafts to test on their supporters, but that's not what I'm about. I believe it's better to be good but late than on time and rubbish.

Anyway. What am I doing?

  1. Going broke.

  2. Urgently writing a story for publication on Royal Road (written strictly to-market), in an attempt to avert that problem and also get more attention on TEWWBAD.

I can't share the details just yet, but that's what I'm presently about. Tonight and tomorrow I'm finalising this week's two TEWWBAD chapters for you so that, for the remainder of the week, I can sit down and bang out as many words of the new story as I physically can, in the hope of launching as soon as possible.

All of this is to say that, yes, the additional +2 (and maybe even +4 if this keeps up) chapters I owe on the Patreon will be coming as soon as I can physically carve out the time. I'll make a note of everyone who's subscribed now, and if your access expires before I get around to sorting them then – once I do increase the read-ahead – I'll reach out to make sure you get the +X chapters you were owed for the time you were subscribed.

I take my promises to you all seriously, and I appreciate both your support and your patience.

Thanks for reading,

LJ

Im looking forward to reading your new story. I am weak to mass appeal and with your skill I've seen in your writing TEWWBAD I know it'll be worth a try.

Well, I hope my $10 helps you somewhat with problem #1. :]
