Sanguine Rose Steam Release & Changes to the Patreon

Hey everyone, Hallows here, let's touch base on the Sanguine Rose Steam release. If you've already read the patron post which came out just before this one, you can skip this, we'll be covering the same topics.

First and foremost, it's coming out tomorrow, which is exciting for us, but also leaves a lot of questions regarding the Patreon. For patrons who want to know what this means for builds, please check out the post we put out just before this one. The short answer is that we're rewarding our past and present supporters according to criteria which keep us on Steam's good side.

Moving on, a common question we've had is what to do if you want to play the Steam version of the game but don't want to purchase it through Steam. Well the good news is we do intend to release the Steam version on other platforms (including itch.io) but it will be about a month out from right now. We want to focus our efforts on promoting the Steam release first since a strong launch there could hugely increase the resources we have to spend on Joystick Bliss. We don't have an exact date in mind for Itch just yet, but we don't see it being more than a month at this stage.

Which brings us to our next point. Once Sanguine Rose is released on Steam, we'll be taking this Patreon in a much more Joystick Bliss oriented direction. We don't want to mislead people. This Patreon exists primarily to support us and gain early access to our current projects. Once Sanguine Rose is released on Steam we'll be changing up the page to better indicate that this patreon is for supporting Joystick Bliss. From now on, the best way to support Sanguine Rose specifically is Steam, and Itch once we release there too. We'll likely be changing up tiers and their rewards to better reflect this, and we understand if anyone wants to wait until the dust has settled to decide how much they want to pledge monthly. We're so grateful for any support we receive.
