Unable to continue as Harry Potter, he assumes the identity of James Peverell, the lost heir of a legendary bloodline. However, his return to the wizarding world does not spark celebration, but rather the suspicion of the Ministry of Magic, which brands him an impostor to be unmasked. His attempt to blend into the crowd at the Quidditch World Cup ends in disaster when Death Eaters attack, forcing him to reveal the battle skills of a veteran to protect a bewildered and suspicious Fleur Delacour.
These actions catch the attention of Albus Dumbledore, who intervenes with an offer Harry cannot refuse: sanctuary and surveillance within the walls of Hogwarts. Now trapped in a gilded cage and secretly seeking the help of Sirius Black, Harry realizes that his first battle will not be against Voldemort, but for his own identity.
