Preview/Update 9th Feb 2021

Howdy all! Sorry for the lateness of this update. I didn’t forget, I’ve just been a little under the weather for the last week or so, and it’s starting to catch up with me.

So, this preview is of something totally different. I was playing with the idea of a Tharja Apocryphal Tale a while back, and I wrote about a thousand words of it the other day, just to try it on for size. The idea is it’s set nearly twenty years after Awakening, so a lot has gone down. Like Tharja and SI!Ben moving to Plegia and having four other kids aside from Morgan and Noire (because they cannot keep it in their pants). And they’re all daughters. As a form of cosmic karma lol. And yes, I’ve got them all named already. It goes Noire, Morgan, Luna, the twins Arwen and Eowyn (don’t judge me, I absolutely would) and the as yet unborn one that Tharja’s still carrying at the start of the story (which SI!Ben just knows is gonna be another girl, and will be named Hilda). But! I don’t know when I’ll work on this one. I was just trying it out, getting some ideas down before I forgot them. Let me know if this is something you’d rather see sooner than later, though, and I’ll dedicate some more effort to it.

Everything else progresses smoothly. I asked the Fancy Bitch Patrons to vote on introducing Morgan early, and it was such a resounding ‘yes’ that it felt like they were telling me “did you even have to ask?” So, all going according to plan, Morgs will be introduced either this chapter or next chapter. We’ll see. Everything else progresses as planned. All according to keikaku...

yes, that hurt to write. I’m not sorry.

So, in news, the Mass Effect Trilogy remaster has a release date, and it’s the 14th of may! My birthday is on the 18th! And I’ve booked the entire week off! I honestly didn’t plan this, but... I love it when shit just comes together like this. May... just might see some delay in the monthly chapter lol. I’ve also been listening to Lovecraft audiobooks while I’ve been painting, mostly just to say I have actually ‘read’ them. Honestly? I’m not super impressed. Like, yeah it’s interesting to check out early horror and the kind of shit that was so influential, but I’m personally so desensitised to the idea of cosmic horror that it’s really not doing it for me. I do like the idea that humans are so utterly insignificant in Lovecraft’s setting, though.

I think that’s all I got this week. Thanks for your continued support, and Nagaspeed, friends!
