This reaction is likely going to trigger you. I apologize. I’m probably one of the last people on earth who is going to “get” a rom-com parody. I’ve seen like 2 in my entire life, and those were years ago. I’m sure 90% of the jokes went right over my head. It doesn't help that I don't read the synopsis of each episode beforehand, which would've prepared me a little more for this one. 😂
I’m not saying this was an objectively ‘bad’ episode, and I’m quite sure my indifference to it was wholly down to my own ignorance, so don’t listen to me (as if, lol) if this was a favourite of yours. That said, I liked the ending.
My heart breaks a little bit more for Nathaniel each episode. It looks like he’s decided to let her go because he cares for her so much. I guess, in a way, watching the rom-coms provided him with new insight; perhaps in the future he’ll be better equipped to manage his relationships, to be a genuinely better person, rather than someone constantly 'angle shooting.'
All that said, during editing I get to watch some of the episode again, and it seemed like Rebecca’s reaction to Nathaniel’s ‘method’ was a positive one, one that she recognised in herself. So maybe she’s realised something? I said in the intro, and I’ve thought it for a while now, but it is looking like, of the two (I’m not including Josh), Nathaniel is looking the most likely match for her.
I've played around with the video settings in the edit and I've found a compromise of quality Vs file size. It's far from the absolute best quality but it reduced the size of the file by a factor of 8, which means that I may even be able to put all of the remaining episodes on GD (so no need to sync). 👍 LMK if you'd prefer the better quality video and I'll go back to the old way.
I did the next episode too. I'll try and get that one up at the weekend. 🙂
