Quick Mic Test, Again!

This time on a mannequin head!!! Guest starring, Tilly! (I was a bit excited, hehe)

Thoughts? (It's a bit chaotic and unpredictable)

I really tried to run about 3 meters either side of the mic to illustrate SPACE in the sound - I love Heather Feathers 'Circle Time' videos. So I hopped this gave that sort of feel...I used anything i had in that space as triggers just for this test.

I'll need to organize my triggers to test this again properly! (maybe tests in action? as i go!) The door was open so it sounds very "big" and outside was very loud!

Do you feel the space?

I'll need to still test the placement and direction of the mics see how that helps. I mostly walked in front of you and to the sides but i intend to walk all the way around for the video.

(I was a bit shy recording in front of ppl, a lot of cuts because I didn't tell them they had to be quiet lol)

I'll need to not wear slippers next time as i think a clacky heel would be even better!! Maybe my voice carries too well? hehe

yay! this was largely unedited i just had to do some boosting! And, it's funny i hear ALL sounds behind or above me no matter what i do ...there is no "front". hehe. hehe, i'm in the closet! rofl!

oh wow, yay good!! The door was open so it was SO LOUD! hehe

Mic quality so good sounds like you were in my closet behind the hangers

I loved those same 'circle time's too and I think that it's a shame that there just aren't that many out there either so I do hope that you do something similar! As for the test itself, it certainly does capture the sense of distance though I feel like sharper sounds like footsteps carried that sense of distance better than your voice at the further distances but then again I don't know all that much about your recording set-up. I'm not sure how that affects what you have planned but I'm eager to find out!

I can definitely feel the space in this one, it reminded me of the first time I heard the Virtual Barber Shop video and had my mind blown. Fantastic audio. At about a minute in a propeller aircraft flies by in your audio and I was convinced it was actually on my end 😆
