Hello, and happy August! I hope you’re doing well. I am back from my weekend trip and wow, I could sleep for a week. I am out of my mind tired. Two weddings located several hours apart knocked me down harder than I expected and I tried to be smart about contact with people. But hey, I made it home in one piece so hooray.

Anyways, let’s see what we got going on for this month!

⛱ BLFC? ⛱

The original plan is that I am going to attend Biggest Little Fur Con in Reno NV in late October as a table artist where I can take commissions and sell some merch. However, things are looking a little sketchy as far as planning goes. Staff aren’t being very responsive to confirmations, but I can’t say I blame them. Between the fluctuating Covid numbers and my day job, it’s up in the air whether I will be at BLFC, but I will let you know as soon as I know for sure!

⛱ The Work/Comic Balance ⛱

For those of you who don’t know, I have a day job completely unrelated to furry stuff. I work at a couple different entertainment studios where I basically do a handful of things that keep the place functioning. Sometimes it’s sedentary, sometimes it’s physical labor. Although I do generally like it, it pays beans and furry work is my main source of income at this point (thank you SO much!). The health insurance at the studio is the only thing that keeps me there FOR NOW. If they decide to cut away our health insurance anytime within the next year or two (which would not surprise me), I will be taking the plunge and going full-time artist for you guys.

This month, we started a big project that’s going to run til October, but has the potential to bloat the rest of the year since everything is so touch-and-go in LA County. Right now, I work half days and one full day a week. In reality, this cuts my furry art window to about 45% of what it has been during pandemic times. Please know that I still intend to do my best to get your typical amount of content out to you, but my hours are going to be sporadic as heck. Responses to messages will be pretty minimal other than to answer questions. It’s a lot to balance but I’ll try my best!
