Plot twist. - Emery was part of that gang, because he was insecure about his own sexuality back in teenage years. And if speaking seriously, this is just all too real. I could see this happening if some homophobes would see something like that and go on to beat up those guys. I think we're going in the right direction, but the world is still full of hatred.

2018-11-25 21:14:55 +0000 UTCSorry, this is going to be somewhat off topic - I just watched "Boy Erased" yesterday at the movies and have to say I was deeply saddened and embarrassed as a human being that there are so many places in the world and especially in the US (the land of the free?) that do so much injustice against members of the LBGTQ community. I haven't been in the situation, but I can begin to imagine the loneliness and isolation that being gay or just "different" brings on top of the difficult and conflicting times of being a teenager. In the movie - and in this particular page of "Falling Flat" - I feel the need to step in and support the protagonists as much as I could, but of course that's ridiculous. I guess I need to see what I can help with locally...
