Happy PRIDE month! Which of these LGBTQ+ organizations would you like a portion of this month's Patreon funds to be donated to?
Added 2018-06-07 12:00:01 +0000 UTCSince this poll received so much positive feedback last year, I wanted to bring it back for an encore!
Please check out the organizations below! Both a donation and a small gift from the shop will be purchased and posted as proof of the donation upon arrival. 2018-06-08 06:25:51 +0000 UTCAlso, because it is Pride Month, I'd like to also point out something that I hope will interest some of you. Many don't know that we have a history. The struggle was real, and it honestly still is in certain ways. A lot of us fought hard and/or went through hell before finally being considered as having the same worth as any other human being, and many died along the way. If you really want to know the truth, I suggest watching this docudrama (a film/show based on true events) about the Gay Rights Movement. It based on a book by Cleve Jones, one of those who has been at the front of the movement since the beginning (and who coincidentally shares my birthday, which is also National Coming Out Day), and it chronicles the events he and his comrades/friends experienced from 1970 to a few years back. Anyway, here ya go: http://abc.go.com/shows/when-we-rise

2018-06-08 05:13:32 +0000 UTCGoing with The Trevor Project (I have them as my Amazon Smile charity, too; if you use Amazon, use Smile to help charities!!). I believe I voted for them last year (omg it’s been a year already!), but HRC won. Suicide is a serious problem for us. I cannot underscore that enough. The rate of suicide among LGBTQ+ folks is muuuuch higher than of the general population, especially when young. Family, religious, community, and peer abuse and bullying push many to take this option. The more places of outreach we have, and the more the hotline is advocated, the more lives we can save. Please consider them.
