He did, but he did it for the wrong reasons. It doesn’t even seem like the two of them have anything in common, either. The relationship is basically a case of exchanging sex for a job position, which is highly unethical. His judgement is as murky as it could possibly be. The flip side is that he seems like a friendly and generally nice guy. Almost pitiable. That doesn’t give him free reign to take a route of ends justifying the means, however.
