Multi process printing!!

I have finally got around to playing with Simply3d and discovered the pleasure of multi process printing. This is where you can selected different layer heights, infills etc on the same model. Why you ask, well speed for one! Printing the boosters you can print the walls at .3 for speed and when you get to the angled parts slow down to a nice .1 to minimise sanding. Went from 11 hours to just over 5 when I did this. Love it! Need to play with other features in Simply3d. Love the software. I also printed An extruder upgrade did my Makerbot. Using a hole punch spring (don't ask,it's all I had) and it works splendidly. So pleased with the results. Had no Jams and can print at high res again. Something not possible with the standard extruder.

Grid 'pulls' more as it's straight when it cools, so honeycomb is better.

Is it better to use honeycomb or grid infill??

Bed might be too hot also, just trying to hit glass stage temp around 110. Any hotter may result in more shrinkage b

Great! Thanks.. I'll try the helper disks.. cause I already use closed printer and heated bed at 130...

Infill affects it also. Use hexagon fills and the higher you go the more chance of warping.

I will only print ABS using an enclosure. Secondly the bed adhesion is critical. I use PEI sheets for brilliant results. One sheet is all I've used. It lasts indefinitely. Prusa sell them online for 7 pounds. Lastly helper discs on the corners. So long as the beds level and the first layer squishes down you should be ok. Bed around 105 head 240.

btw, I'm having huge "warping" with the ring 1 and 2 pieces.. I'm using ABS. Any tip on how yo minimize that?!?

Great! I'll try the feature. ..

Sorry, yes simplify.

Hi.. when you say "Simply", you mean the Simplify3D, or is it a different software ?

I need to spend some time debugging Simply3D. It worked great when I first purchased it, but, with the last release, my printer starts printing about 2mm above the bed and I haven't figured out what's causing it. Cura/Repetier works consistently, but I do like the multi-process printing and manual support options in Simply3D.
