[Marvel's Magic Master] Chapter 273: Dragon Hunter George
Added 2025-03-19 16:29:09 +0000 UTCPreviously, he had always looked down on the dragons in the Harry Potter world, considering them to be of low intelligence and relatively small in size.
Compared to the dragons in the Fairy Tail universe, they were practically nothing more than winged lizards.
However, after fusing with the dragon crystal refined from magical dragons, his perspective changed.
Why should he care so much? Any enhancement, no matter how small, was still an improvement.
Even though the dragons in this world were inferior, they were still dragons. As the saying goes, three humble tailors are as wise as one Zhuge Liang. By fusing dragon crystals refined from ten different types of dragons and combining their strengths, he could still achieve significant enhancements in his physique and the power of his fire attacks.
Moreover, this could help compensate for some of the magical dragon's shortcomings.
The first magical dragon, created by Morgoth, was indeed powerful but had a critical flaw—it lacked wings, unlike later generations of magical dragons. As a result, the first ancestor dragon could not fly.
If he successfully completed his Animagus transformation and truly turned into a magical dragon, he too would be a wingless dragon.
Although he could use magic to create a pair of pure white wings, the image of a golden magical dragon with angelic white wings felt far too out of place.
But if he could incorporate the advantages of ten different fire dragons from this world, then he might not transform into a magical dragon identical to Glaurung. Instead, he could become an entirely new type of dragon—one that fused the traits of both Glaurung and the ten fire dragons.
This way, he wouldn't have to worry about being suppressed by Morgoth if he ever needed to confront him after completing his transformation.
Magical dragons were Morgoth's creations, and if he transformed into one and attacked Morgoth, there was a high probability that Morgoth would be able to suppress him. However, if his new form was no longer classified as a magical dragon, that risk would be significantly reduced.
Of course, the ideal scenario would be obtaining a dragon crystal from the Fairy Tail world before completing his Animagus transformation. That way, his dragon form would be the strongest among all the dragon species across these different worlds.
By the time he returned from Hagrid's hut, the sky had already darkened. After having breakfast in the Great Hall, he returned to the Slytherin dormitory.
On his way through the common room, he noticed that the younger wizards were particularly excited today.
After asking around, he learned that a new notice had been posted on the bulletin board: on the eve of Halloween, students in third year and above would be allowed to visit Hogsmeade on Saturdays.
Hogwarts was a school of magic, and Hogsmeade was its corresponding magical village.
Hogsmeade was also the only entirely wizard-inhabited village in Britain; other wizarding settlements had mixed populations of wizards and Muggles. In 1612, it even served as the headquarters for the Goblin Rebellion.
The village was home to various magical shops and pubs, second only to Diagon Alley in vibrancy. However, only third-year students and above, with signed permission from a parent or guardian, were allowed to visit.
George, however, was not bound by these restrictions. Dumbledore had granted him special permission to enter and leave the castle freely.
So when the weekend arrived, George greeted Dumbledore before spreading his wings and flying out of the castle.
Along the way, a few Dementors attempted to intercept him, but upon sensing the holy light radiating from his body, they fled in terror.
Although weekends technically lasted two days, with his Time-Turner, he could effectively stretch them into four days. Given that his Animagus transformation would take at least two months—possibly even longer—he was confident that he had enough time to collect all ten dragon crystals.
There was one aspect of the Animagus transformation he had miscalculated.
Originally, he thought that after holding a Mandrake leaf in his mouth for a month, he could simply use magic to summon a storm if the weather didn't cooperate.
However, after consulting Dumbledore, he was told that such a trick would not work.
Other wizards had tried using Weather Charms in the past, only to fail completely.
The Animagus transformation involved ritual magic, aligning with the natural laws of the world. It was a form of ancient magic—time-consuming, labor-intensive, and impossible to bypass. One had to follow the exact steps, no shortcuts allowed.
This was one of the reasons why the practice had declined in the wizarding world. Like other forms of ancient magic, it was simply too troublesome.
Fortunately, Britain had frequent rainfall compared to other countries, meaning that stormy weather wasn't too difficult to come by. The odds were in his favor.
Flying beyond Hogwarts' boundaries, George reached a location where the anti-Apparition magic no longer affected him. He then Disapparated.
An hour later, he arrived in the skies over the Hebrides, off Scotland's western coast.
The Hebridean Black Dragon was the closest fire dragon to him, making it his first target.
"A large-scale Muggle-repelling charm… That must be the place."
Circling above the islands, he quickly identified a small island covered by a vast Muggle-repelling charm.
Nowadays, any area inhabited by fire dragons was always guarded by wizards, both to prevent the dragons from harming people and to keep them hidden from Muggle eyes. Such areas were typically shielded by extensive protective spells.
According to Hagrid, the Hebridean Black Dragons had been guarded for centuries by the McFusty clan.
Casting an Invisibility Charm, George swiftly descended and infiltrated the protected island, where he saw numerous black dragons soaring through the sky.
The Hebridean Black Dragon had rough, black scales, a row of razor-sharp dorsal spines, a tail ending in a pointed arrowhead, bat-like wings, and striking purple eyes. They could grow up to nine meters in length.
Nine meters? Well, George's gigantification form was already thirty meters tall.
"Gigantify!"
Still cloaked in invisibility, George expanded into a thirty-meter giant. Wasting no time, he flew above a full-grown black dragon that was feasting on a wild ox and grabbed it by the neck.
"Mirror Dimension!"
Pointing at the nearby lake, he dragged the struggling black dragon into the reversed mirror world.
Once inside, George crushed the dragon's skull with three punches. He then quickly carved a magic circle into the ground, preparing to refine the dragon crystal.
Back in the normal world, a group of wizard guards Apparated to the scene after hearing the dragon's death throes. However, seeing nothing amiss, they scratched their heads in confusion.
Ultimately, they did not dwell on it. As long as no Muggles had intruded and the dragons had not escaped or harmed anyone, they saw no need to intervene. Even if a few dragons perished in fights among themselves, it was considered normal.
After all, they weren't Romanian dragonologists specializing in dragon research—they were just guardians.
The Romanians were scientists, while they were merely sentinels.
