I think it was mostly a matter of timeliness, the Russian Ukraine war has been on my (and probably a lot of peoples') minds and about subject that we just haven't heard a whole lot about. I certainly didn't know much about Ivan Ilyin (other than he was some kind of fascist whack job and that Putin liked him) so learning more about him and the other inspirations for Putin's actions was fascinating. Anyways, regarding the lack of Polandballs, I didn't mind their absence in the video but would probably start to miss them the if you waved off from using them permanently.
