Why is the border between the two the single most crossed border in human history? How did a co-dependent economy develop that clearly favors one over the other? In this video, the first of a 3 part series, I would like to take you on a journey through the socio-economic developments that took place in two countries throughout their recent 400 years of history and compare them. I would like to show you that the reasons for why these two countries are so different are found not in geography, climate, ethnicity, or religion. But in the divergent paths, both have historically taken in developing their economic and political structures.
