Added 2019-11-11 17:55:45 +0000 UTCCreating texture and patterns with my "Ahab" fountain pen filled with Noodler's black ink! As I continue to work with ink, it's becoming easier to create variation within a drawing. This had initially been a challenge for me. I'm starting to see how to use pattern and texture for the benefit of composition. In this drawing, there is cross-hatching to create dark spaces, repeated circles for an organic texture, blank negative spaces, and other areas of repeating lines (as seen in the leaves).
