On the easel!

As the summer has gone on, I've been noticing the sharp contrast in the lights and darks of the wooded areas. Georgia is full of trees, and they are so much thicker with leaves, and bigger and lusher than the desert climates I'd lived in previously. The deep, dark woods of Georgia is the inspiration for this painting, not to mention the wonderful contrast of light and how it shines through the canopy. It will be an exciting challenge for me to work in oil and landscape!
