This week I have for you the Heralds inspired from the fifth and sixth edicts of creation; the creation of beasts and the creation of man. Although I could not find adequate art that captured the essence of these two Heralds, boy oh boy were these guys fun to make and draw up flavor text for! I adore the idea of pulling the literal flesh and blood from characters, using it as a shield for temp hp, but also taking that same flesh and blood and sculpting it into a fucked up lil’ lifeform that can sing and scream, beckoning bones and eyes to stretch out of the flesh that encases them! For the Herald of Man, I often see imagery of the fucked up child that’s not actually a child but really a demon, and I felt like that kinda fit with the Herald of Man, something that is representative of the creation of all mortalkind, but has in no way the morals of any adult, and instead the whimsy, disinterest, and disgust of a child. With fun strange attacks that simply puppet others into killing each other, I felt it makes perfect sense for a weirdly human nonhuman eldritch thing to just watch and smile as it makes two best friends slit each other’s throats.
