The Valkyrie - a CR 7 flying melee menace celestial following divine justice: smiting and slicing your players to shreds

This week I have a fairly typical slash, slash, and even more slash monster! Although I do love me some fun little mechanics here and there with monsters especially, sometimes just getting wailed on as a player is really scary, and the valkyrie was designed to really try and lean into that! With a ton of damage, a built in way to get advantage, plus flight and really good AC, this valkyrie is a war machine, and rightfully so! There are many iterations of the valkyrie and to make it fit within the thematics of Virgil’s Prayerbook to the Horrifying Divine, I really liked the idea of a construct. An angel that does not feel and is designed exclusively for war - and its mortal-like characteristics being intentional ‘design’ choices to make a mortal falter, for even a second, because this thing never will.
