Hello everybody!
In case you missed the previous (older) post about the Marut Mach 2, this is essentially the same thing but it has been tweaked and balanced a little bit more so its DPR does not outpace canonical tiamat! (the boss previously had way too many saving throw bonuses plus did an extra 50~ or so DPR than the other CR30 enemies, so it did have to be toned down a bit!)
This is essentially designed to be an 'out-of-box' bossfight, with multilple elements and variables for players to keep track of and to be continually engaged in the fight beyond just hitting each other over and over! This is done through a number of things like:
Realizing that the boss is nearly invicible with its reactors.
Realizing and disabling its inactive reactors that can continue to boost it even if its previous active reactors are destroyed.
Reactive Plating where players will have to strategically think about what damage types they are using and when they are using them, so they can't just completely bum rush the boss.
PROTOCOL:// GRAVITY COLLAPSE which essentially turns the next round into a minigame of 'GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE RADIUS' or deactive the reactors while we have a chance to, to reduce the damage and maybe not get immolated!
ANNNNDDD as opposed to just getting all of its HP back with better legendary actions, when PRPOTOCOL:// GODSPEED activates (half HP), the fight takes a hard left turn; where the boss forgoes its defensive options and instead becomes an almost illusionary/duplicate fight where the boss suddenly now takes up MUCH more space than the party initially assumes and a new issue pops up, being where the HELL the boss actually is to damage it!
This fight is inspired by all of those speed demon characters like speed-o-sound sonic and especially Genos (both from one punch man), and this fight is made to be an absolute blast that is dynamic and changing as the players slowly overcome the hurdles thrown by the boss!
