More Regarding my Recommendations
Added 2024-07-17 22:06:00 +0000 UTCHi everybody! Weird post, but you'll notice that I can now recommend other creators! In those recommendations they limit me to only 256 characters which is really limiting, and I drafted up a lot more to say on those specific creators and why I specifically recommend them. So, if you're interested, here are my thoughts and why I recommend the creators I recommended.
The Fluffy Folio
The Fluffy Folio has beautifully made, extremely unique little monsters that are exceptionally well thought out with really good lore and flavor that can fit into any game that enjoys critters and little guys. They make for really good dynamic non-combat encounters, and the art is all hand-made and exceptionally gorgeous and stylized. I can’t emphasize enough that what he makes is unlike many other monster creators, that has a really specific style and vibe. He also makes potions and items, many times based off of his monsters, and I would just overall highly recommend him.
Laserllama
Laserllama is, in my opinion, one of the OG pillars of homebrew in 5e who creates very well thought-out and wonderfully made player options and reworks to many classes and subclasses in 5e that are a really good refresh and super worth playing. Plus, Laserllama’s content is pretty thoroughly playtested and put through the ringer to make really fun content that is updated with a lot of really intricate detail-work on it. If you’re looking for primarily player content, I would highly recommend Laserllama.
Kibblestasty
Kibblestasty is also, in my opinion, one of the OG pillars of homebrew for 5e and has a lot of really good player options via classes, subclasses, feats, and spells. Their content is also playtested a lot, and a lot of thought, balance, and fixes are put into the content they put out. I specifically would highly recommend their crafting compendium as it's very well thought out, does nearly all the work already for the DM and player through having components listed for every magic item, and really easy-to-follow rules that make sense and don’t slog down the game.
Griffon's Saddlebag
I don’t think I even need to say that much about Griffon’s Saddlebag, he is on a level that feels very different from most homebrew creators. He produces extremely high quality magic items with gorgeous art that fits really well into fifth edition. All the magic items he produces fit perfectly in 5e games and could be found in 5e sourcebooks, while still being creative and inventive. Just the sheer amount of high quality content you get from supporting him is worthwhile, and he has produced more than just magic items as well, so it goes without saying that you should absolutely support him if you’re looking for really really good magic items.
MonkeyDM
MonkeyDM is one the rising stars from the pandemic who creates really expansive compendiums at a very consistent rate that are a really good consistent quality. He knows what he is doing, and each of the compendiums contain a lot of content for you to pick at; from subclasses, monsters, spells, feats, and even adventure paths within the setting or theming of the compendium. I would really recommend him if you’re looking for more compendiums similar to the vein in how I make content, but you can even run mini campaigns within the compendiums he’s created as there are all the tools you need within them.
