Hello everybody! I'm getting pretty busy with the Horticulture guide, and comissioning art! So in the meanwhile I've developed this CR30 Marut Mach 2, an absolute BEAST of a construct that will be converted and changed a liiiiitle bit for the next Cyberpunk compendium, BUT for now! Enjoy it as an awesome fight for your extremely high level players!
Designed like the Sommelier to be an 'out-of-box' boss fight, the Marut Mach 2 is designed to have multiple elements to keep players engaged beyond just hitting each other over and over! With Reactors making the Marut nearly impossible to hit and giving it crazy bonuses to saving throws, players will have to think about how they want to prioritize Reactors versus doing damage to the boss! Plus with Inactive Reactors well, it'll be a good idea for a player or two to tackle those as well so all of the effort destroying a Reactor doesn't go to waste! Plus with Reactive Plating, it becomes really difficult to bum rush the boss! If damage types aren't diverisified and players aren't working together on who gets the hits, players can end up wasting entire actions just cause the Paladin already smited the Marut!
Furthermore, with PROTOCOL:// GODSPEED, the fight takes a hard left turn, forgoing defensive options to instead have an almost illusionary/duplicate fight where the boss now suddenly takes up MUCH more space than the players initially thought and the issue to solve now, is where the hell the Marut actually is!
Inspired by Genos from One Punch Man, this fight is sure to be a blast and I'll be playtesting this at some point to see how fun the boss fight is, and what I can improve on it; as I want to make my boss fights as fun and as dynamic as they possibly could be!
