Hjulthrum's Expanded Metals and Materials

29 New Magical Metals The idea of a magical world that affects not only the creatures that inhabit it but also the world is a fascinating aspect of many fantasy worlds, and it's a shame that this is represented in such a small way in Dungeons and Dragons with Adamantite, Mithral, and Infernal Iron. Furthermore, because these metals have innate properties they are considered ‘magic items,’ and as such they cannot be made into further magic items or even enchanted as per the rules of fifth edition. This is where this guide seeks to amend this, by adding 29 new magical metals, alloys, and materials from the familiar Adamantite and Mithral, to new metals such as Undersea Thulium and Ilpraecantium! Drag and Drop Lore! Not only do each of these materials contain statistics for when the material is used in the creation of a weapon, armor, or shield, but all of the materials contain details regarding their creation process, where they can be found, as well as what they are commonly used for! As such, any and all of these metals, alloys, and materials can be dropped into your world to fit within your setting! Not Just Magic Items As hinted at earlier, these new metals and materials are not just magic items, as some of the materials are not necessarily innately magical in nature, and sometimes the alloys or metals just simply have innate properties such as being incredibly durable like Adamantite! As such, some of the equipment from these materials and metals are considered nonmagical for the purposes of enchantments, spells, and other magical effects, so the inner blacksmith and artificer within us all can make more nuanced and complex magical items or enchantments out of exotic and rare materials!
