A CR 8 Aberration; the Egnu'Pex
Added 2022-02-24 00:18:03 +0000 UTCYet again continuing my line of strange aberrations that are based around emotions/human psychology, I give to you the Egnu'Pex, an archmage's worst nightmare! An aberration based around insanity, chaos, and contradiction!
The highest CR out of the Kabni thus far, the Egnu'Pex is a resistance-shredding spellcaster based all around dealing psychic damage and making people forget who they are and why they are here in the first place!
Threats not only to the players as a monster, but also the world due to the fact that they turn writing and books around them into nonsensical chaos, this Kabni can also be the centerpiece to a very mind-boggling and identity/memory-crisis based encounter if they are invisible and close to the party!
With a little prose section in the beginning to really get the vibes of the creepy, memory-forgetting effects of this aberration, if you ever run this with your players I would highly suggest having some kind of sound effect that plays very softly in the background to represent the clicking that slowly causes everyone to go insane!
